The Brachiosaurus dinosaurs roamed North America during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 154 to 150 million years ago. Known for its towering height and massive size, the Brachiosaurus is distinguished by its long neck and small head, which allowed it to reach high vegetation. This herbivorous giant had longer forelimbs than hindlimbs, giving it a unique posture among its peers. The name ‘Brachiosaurus’ translates to “arm lizard,” a nod to its elongated front limbs. Estimates suggest that it could have been between 18 and 22 meters long, weighing in at a colossal 28.3 to 46.9 metric tons. Despite its formidable size, the Brachiosaurus was likely a gentle giant, spending much of its time grazing on the treetops, possibly reaching up to 9 meters off the ground.
